Classroom Bibliochaise
I saw the "Bibliochaise" in a "treehugger" article here and thought it would be the perfect addition to my classroom. I knew I could not afford to buy the very nice Italian original, so I figured I could make it. There were no plans to speak of on line yet, so I got the measurements off the original site here, and planned it out. Many trips to the Home Depot and here's what I came up with. Please take into consideration, I am not a carpenter, I've never built something like this, so please excuse the unfinished look of the chair. It is meant for the classroom not the home.

Hey I saw the chair too and now I really want to build it as my new project! So far I've only built those book cases they sell at Target :-) Do you have any advice on how to make it? Really nice job! I would like to make one myself as well, and I was wondering if you could send me your drawings. Like you, I have the measurements as well, but before starting to calculate and 'invent the wheel twice', I was wondering if you could help me on the way.

this is so cool I was reading our local paper this morning and saw this knew I had to have one I read about 2 books a week . went on line to find one no luck came across your wonderful project like everyone else I would like the plans and all tips and pointers and.. The slide show says it all. I started w one large piece of MDF and had it cut at the Home Depot, the shelves were all cut en'mass and it all went together like lego after that.
Start w the base and go from there...buy lots of screws! and some wood glue.
Sorry I didn't have any "real" drawings, just the one off the slide show and I went from there.
